American Spy

Synopsis

In 1986, Marie Mitchell is a Black intelligence officer at the FBI facing restricted opportunities within the organisation. She joins a covert task force directed against Thomas Sankara, the president of Burkina Faso, whom she admires. The mission brings professional duty into conflict with personal judgment, family and attachment. Lauren Wilkinson places a fictional agent in a Cold War historical setting to explore competing demands on her loyalty.
