Our Man in Havana

Synopsis

James Wormold sells vacuum cleaners in pre-revolutionary Cuba and needs extra money for his daughter, Milly. Recruited as an informant by British intelligence, he supplies invented reports to meet his new employers’ expectations. When those reports are accepted as real intelligence, a private improvisation acquires dangerous consequences. Graham Greene’s spy satire connects family obligations with an institution’s willingness to believe useful information.
