Slow Horses

Synopsis

Slough House is an unpromising London posting for MI5 officers whose careers have gone wrong, overseen by Jackson Lamb. River Cartwright wants to return to meaningful intelligence work. The kidnapping of a young man, accompanied by a threat of an execution broadcast online, draws the sidelined agents toward a crisis with competing interests behind it. The first Slough House novel brings professional resentment, ambition and public duty into the same assignment.
