The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle

Synopsis

Toru Okada’s search for a missing cat becomes a search for his wife and for realities hidden beneath suburban Tokyo. Strange encounters and memories of Japan’s war in Manchuria draw the private collapse of a marriage into a larger story of violence, history and uncertain identity.
